Local Partners & Organisations
CSU Regional Archives
The largest archival repository in regional Australia, holding records of 38 Morrow Street going back to its history as a WWII servicewomen’s hostel. A key research partner for this project.
Wagga Wagga & District Historical Society
Holds records, photographs and materials relating to Wagga Wagga’s social history. Being approached about auspicing the Council heritage grant and connecting with former boarders.
Wagga Wagga City Library
Home to a significant local history collection including photographs, newspaper clippings and electoral rolls. Being approached about archiving oral histories and stocking the finished book.
Museum of the Riverina
Social history museum with two Wagga Wagga sites and a collection of approximately 15,000 objects, photographs and materials documenting the city and region. Being approached about archiving and collaboration.
Eastern Riverina Arts (ERA)
The region’s peak arts body, connecting artists, communities and councils across the Riverina. Listed as a key partner in the Wagga Wagga 2050 Community Strategic Plan. Being approached about creative collaboration and auspicing.
The Daily Advertiser
Wagga Wagga’s newspaper of record since 1868, with an extensive archive available through Trove. Being approached about running a story to help find former boarders and advice on accessing historical records.
Country Women’s Association (CWA)
Australia’s largest women’s organisation, with deep roots in the Riverina community. Approached about collaboration and auspicing, and to help connect with women who remember The Manor era. Notably, former boarders from the 1960s were known to join the CWA Wagga Younger Set.
Mates Gully Accommodation
The current home of 38 Morrow Street, run by owner Marcia. The visit that started this entire project. Marcia is aware of and supportive of the Wagga Girls book.
Wagga Wagga City Council
An application has been lodged for the 2026/27 Annual Grants Program under the Local Heritage category, aligned with the Wagga Wagga 2050 Community Strategic Plan objectives around arts, culture, heritage and identity.
